About our home

Just a stone’s throw from the seafront in Roker, Sunderland, Falstone Manor is a purpose-built care home with 51 beds offering residential, nursing and nursing dementia care.

Falstone Manor underwent an extensive refurbishment programme in 2022 which transformed communal areas including dining rooms, lounges/day rooms, reception area, and beautiful decoration throughout the home.

Located just a short distance from the seafront, Falstone Manor offers Residents a good choice of spots to relax and socialise. With a hairdressing salon and a room designated for Residents wishing to pursue hobbies and interests, there are plenty of options, including the attractive garden, which is looked after by some of the Residents. The bright, comfortable bedrooms and living areas are all easily accessible by wheelchair. Some of our rooms have sea views.

The home’s caring team has created an appealing family atmosphere, encouraging everyone to eat, celebrate and plan special occasions together. Residents are invited to decorate their rooms with small items of their own furniture and treasured belongings so that it feels just like home. Daily life is thoughtfully designed to support mind, body and soul.

By Car

We are situated in a beautiful coastal location in Roker, just north of Sunderland city centre. From the A1018 (Roker Avenue), follow signs for Whitburn and continue along Whitburn Road. The home is located opposite Roker Park and close to the seafront. Visitor parking is available on-site.

By Bus

Regular bus services run between Sunderland city centre and Whitburn, with stops close to the home on Whitburn Road. Please check local timetables for the latest routes and times.

By Train

The nearest mainline station is Sunderland Station, approximately a 10-minute drive from the home. Taxis are readily available outside the station, or you can take the Tyne and Wear Metro to St Peter’s Station, which is around a 15-minute walk from the home.

On Foot

If you’re walking from Roker seafront or Roker Park, the home is just a few minutes away along Whitburn Road, offering easy access and scenic surroundings.
