HC-One shortlisted as finalists for two awards at The Northern Echo, County Durham Together Awards 2HC-One have been shortlisted as finalists in two award categories at The Northern Echo, County Durham Together Awards 2022. HC-One are a finalist in the ‘Large Company of the Year Award’ Category and Katie Heslop, Resident Liaison at St Clare’s Court Care Home in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham has been selected as a finalist in the ‘Key Worker of the Year Award’ Category. 

The awards shine a richly deserved spotlight on unsung heroes, celebrating those who have supported others during the most challenging of circumstances within County Durham.  
HC-One have been shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘Large Company of the Year Award’ Category as the organisation has helped support those within the region through getting involved in key initiatives and good causes. With c.300 care homes, 20,000 Colleagues and over 14,000 Residents throughout the UK, HC-One are proud to provide residential, nursing, dementia and specialist care services. Katie who has been chosen as a finalist in the ‘Key Worker of the Year Award’ Category has played a vital role at St Clare’s Court Care Home by ensuring the health and safety of Residents living at the home. She has gone above and beyond the requirements of her role to provide support to Residents, under the most challenging of circumstances. Katie’s role as Resident Liaison is a combination of lots of different roles within the home. Most importantly, she acts as a key contact between Residents and families. 

A key aspect of Katie’s role is to ensure the Residents’ experience at the home is the best it can possibly be. Katie goes around Residents rooms each day and ensures they have everything they need. If Residents want anything from the shops, she will happily go out and get it. Katie also communicates with families on a daily basis giving them updates on their loved one’s day and asking if she can support in any way.

The award ceremony of The Northern Echo, County Durham Together Awards will take place at Ramside Hall Hotel in Durham on Thursday 8th December 2022 when the winners will be announced across 11 different award categories.
