Sunderland care homes help local children this ChristmasResidents, Colleagues and Relatives of Falstone Manor and Falstone Court care homes in Roker have been working extremely hard to ensure local children received some lovely gifts this Christmas.

Falstone Manor and Falstone Court worked side by side to gather donations from Resident families and Colleagues themselves to ensure that local children would have a gift to open on Christmas morning.

Both care homes take great pride in helping to build community links, this year one of the Colleagues donated a gift to a local school for a family in need.

The home was made aware that there were several children whose family could not supply them with a Christmas gift. The school had reached out to various sources for donations and were told that they had nothing to give. But these two homes knew they could step in and help!

So many fantastic gifts were donated, and the Residents, Colleagues and Relatives were thrilled with all the donations that were made. The school were so happy and thanked both care homes for the fantastic gesture.

Graeme, a Resident, commented, “I was more than happy to help to ensure the children had gifts this Christmas.”

Julie Merritt, Care Home Manager, added, “I’m absolutely overwhelmed at the response from Colleagues and Resident families, their generosity is beyond amazing!”
