HC-One’s Bishopsgate Lodge care home in Bishop Auckland, County Durham has teamed up with Etherley Lane Nursery to help build inter-generational relationships.
Residents from Bishopsgate Lodge and children from Etherley Lane Nursey have been enjoying regular activities together over the last few months, including, playing games, reading stories and singing songs.
The sessions have helped form friendships between the children and Residents from the home, both have started to look forward to their next visits and are excited to see each other every time.
Bishopsgate Lodge Home Manager, Sarah Rigby said: “The sessions with Etherley Lane Nursery have been brilliant for everyone. It’s heart-warming to see how lovely the interactions are between the young children and Residents.”
