Young meets old as part of National Citizens ServiceHC-One’s Hinckley Park Care Home in Hinckley, Leicestershire opened its doors to young members of the local community to spend quality time with Residents.

Hinckley Park has welcomed groups of young people to the home for the past three years as part of the National Citizens Service (NCS). This year the NCS group consisted of 15 members of young people who are looking to give around 60 hours of volunteering in their local community.

The group, led by NCS representatives Sabrina and Simi decided to split into two teams to contribute as much as possible at Hinckley Park. One team obtained plants form Sapcote Garden Centre which were used to tidy up the garden at the home, while the other group spent time with the Residents, sharing stories and playing bingo.

It was a great experience for all involved, Residents at Hinckley Park loved meeting all of the young people, getting to know more about their lives and thanking them for all of their hard work in the garden.

Hinckley Park Home Manager, Sharon Butler said:

“What a privilege it was to have such an amazing group of young people visit Hinckley Park, it was lovely to see the Residents so animated.

“On behalf of everyone at Hinckley Park I would like to thank National Citizen Service and Sapcote Garden Centre for their contribution to the well-being of our Residents.”
