Yoker care home create welcome baskets for new ResidentsHC-One’s Quayside Care Home in Yoker, Glasgow, have been busy creating welcome baskets for new Residents, to ensure that they feel welcomed into the care home.

At Quayside, they have always known how important it is to be welcomed into the care home and when you come from your own home, it can be very daunting.

Together with the Residents, the team at Quayside came up with the idea to give new Resident’s a welcome basket with some of the essentials that they may not have time to get for themselves.

The Residents and the Wellbeing Team made the baskets together to place in the bedrooms of the new Residents to help them settle in and to make moving in a positive experience for them.

Resident William Blake commented:

“It’s difficult moving into a new place, you never know how you are going to be received, so this is a nice wee touch.”

Liz Campbell, Home Manager at Quayside, commented:

“Moving from independent living to a communal setting can be somewhat challenging, a little gesture such as this may just make all the difference.”
