Yoden Primary School join Residents for a Christmas sing alongResidents at HC-One’s Jack Dormand Care Home in Peterlee, County Durham, gathered in the Harmony Unit ready for a visit from Yoden Primary School.

The children all took time going around and engaging with eachResident, asking them questions and having a chat.

They then sang a variety of songs including, Little Donkey, We Three Kings, Away in a Manager and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. The Residents loved listening to them, so much so that some shed a happy tear.

Once the children had finished singing, the Residents then joined them for a Christmas biscuit and some refreshments. The children took this opportunity to show their new friends how to floss and some of the Residents even gave it a go!

Gordon Hume, a Resident’s husband, commented:

“Those children are the voice of Christmas!”

Donna Price, Wellbeing Coordinator, commented:

“What fantastic singing from the pupils, everyone really enjoyed it and we loved welcoming them to our home.

It was such an emotional afternoon seeing the Residents so happy and enjoying themselves.”
