HC-One’s Highfield care home in Yarm, welcomed the local community to celebrate the sixth annual Care Home Open Day in style on 21st April.
The choirs sang ‘You Are My Sunshine’ at the same time, creating a ‘Big Sing’ that brings HC-One homes across the country together in unison.
The family of HC-One homes across the UK took part in activities throughout the day, with Highfield hosting a bake off competition, tombola, raffle, table top sale and live entertainment from Steve Mansell.
The bake off was judged by Andrew from Whisk Away Café, Jane from Boyes and Resident family members Danny Ward and Helen Brazell. HC-One Managing Director Stephen Butterworth also paid a visit to the home and socialised with the Residents and their loved ones.
The day was a great success with over 100 people visiting Highfield throughout the day and over £300 being raised for the Residents fund.
