Residents were supported in letter writing to their loved ones at Rose Court care home in Manchester today.
This has been a positive experience over the pandemic, going back to basics and enjoying sending and receiving letters, sometimes including a picture of what they have been doing too and a great talking point between Colleagues and Residents to join in together and mixed in with some reminiscence at the same time.
One of the Residents said, “I’ve not wrote a letter like this in years, I will have to get my best paper, like I use to.”
Another commented, “Lynn (Relative) will love getting this and be surprised, I’m not going to tell her we have sent it, when I speak to her on the phone.”
The joy in everyone’s faces when they receive letters back is just fantastic and Home Manager, Karen Davies, remarked, “This has been a very positive thing over the lockdown period, going back to basics and traditional letter writing.”
