Residents from
Worsley Lodge care home, in Worsley, Manchester, have really enjoyed getting involved in the preparations for King Charles’ Coronation, which took place on Saturday 6th May.
The preparations involved making royal themed decorations and crowns over the week leading up to the Coronation. There was also some making of delicious treats, including scones for the afternoon tea trolley.
Then came the big day, with a fantastic party, which came with live singing entertainment a royal-themed lunch, and afternoon tea with drinks to finish.
Everyone particularly enjoyed cheering on the King with flags, watching him get crowned on television and finishing off with the National Anthem ‘God Save the King’.
All had a great time, including the families who also got involved with the party and were up dancing with their loved ones and having a great time!
Angela McGinty, Wellbeing Coordinator, commented, “It was lovely to see Residents getting involved and enjoying seeing the king get crowned.”
