Resident Jack Heddery at
Woodside Court in Glenrothes, Fife, which offers nursing and nursing memory care for those living with dementia, was meant to be ‘Best Man’ at his son Martin’s wedding in Dunfermline but due to circumstances Jack couldn’t make it, so the staff kindly offered to hold the wedding ceremony at Woodside Court.
Staff all rallied together to get everything ready within a tight 24-hour period.
The Residents were more than happy to attend and sample the fizzy non-alcoholic champagne. Luckily the weather was on their side and the Bride and Groom had a lovely day and mingled with Residents whilst enjoyed the morning tea, sandwiches, and of course yummy cakes!
One Resident commented, “This is lovely, they all look so happy”.
Another Resident remarked what they like best about the day, “I enjoyed the ceremony and looking at lovely outfits worn, as well at the champagne and cakes”.
Mahri Edgar, Care Home Manager said, “This was lovely to be part of this event and there were a few happy tears shed. Congratulations to the happy couple”.
