Wolverhampton care home Residents enjoy planting spring flowersResidents at HC-One’s Woodcross care home in Walsall enjoyed spending time in the gorgeous sun and planting a variety of spring bedding plants.

Staff and residents enjoyed a lovely afternoon planting up pots and hanging baskets to welcome in Spring and brighten up the garden.

Gardening helps keep elderly general health in a better state by strengthening bones, muscles and joints; it also helps the elderly with balance resulting in less falls; keeps blood pressure at bay; reduces the risk of heart disease and stroke; and of course, helps keep our minds in a positive state.

Woodcross Colleagues are keen to get back out into the garden, now that the weather is starting to turn and look forward to planning on more gardening days in the spring and summer months ahead.
