Wishes granted at Redcar care home The team at HC-One’s Roseberry Court care home in Redcar has been busy making the wishes of Residents, Gladys McLaughlin and Marjorie Poulton come true this August.

Gladys’ wish was to be able to visit her daughter, Lynn, in her flat and get to see where she lives. To make the occasion extra special for the mother and daughter, the team at Roseberry Court organised for Gladys to visit on Lynn’s birthday, which is also three days before Gladys’ birthday.

The pair explored the lovely gardens, looked around Lynn’s flat and Gladys’ even got to meet her daughter’s friends for the first time, to celebrate both of their birthdays everyone enjoyed a buffet lunch followed by a birthday cake.

Lynn commented: “I never thought this day would come, to have my mum see my flat and where I live, thank you so very much.”

For Marjorie, her wish was to enjoy a lovely stroll in the sunshine, so the team waited for a nice day and headed out with Marjorie for a walk around the local park. Marjorie admired the wildlife and watched as dogs chased each other across the fields and children played on the swings before heading to a local café for a warm beverage and a chat with some members of the local community.

Roseberry Court Home Manager, Alishia Calvert said: “At Roseberry Court, we are dedicated to creating happy memories for our Residents, I am so pleased that Marjorie was able to enjoy the summer sunshine and Gladys’ and her daughter were able to celebrate their birthdays together.”
