HC-One’s Jack Dormand Care Home in Peterlee, County Durham makes a Residents wish come true.
Resident Elsie Dixon has always wanted to find a good fitting pair of jeans, having never owned any before and asked if Donna Price, Jack Dormand’s Wellbeing Co-Ordinator, would take her shopping.
Donna took to organising the trip for Elsie straight away where they ventured into Peterlee for a day out, also joined by Residents Mary Fairhurts and Martin Hall.
Elsie, Mary and Martin each made sure to look into all of the shops that they wanted to before enjoying a fish and chip or chicken tikka lunch at Wetherspoons, accompanied with a cheeky pint.
Elsie had seen a pair of jeans that she liked in Select, so they made sure to go back so she could try them on. She was absolutely over the moon with them and couldn’t wait to buy them, commenting:
“I am so happy with my new jeans and they fit my bottom!”
Jack Dormand’s Wellbeing Co-Ordinator, Donna Price commented:
“I love my job and today has made me extra proud that I could make a Resident’s wish come true; it may seem small, but to Elsie it was everything.”
