Wishes come true for Dukinfield care home ResidentColleagues at The Beeches care home in Dukinfield, Tameside have been working hard to grant wishes of those living in the home.

Each Resident has been asked to make a wish, with Colleagues most recently making a dream come true for Jean as she wished to visit Manchester Art Gallery.

The request from Jean came about as her father used to work at the gallery, which holds great sentimental value for Jean and her family.

As she visited the gallery, Jean even took a photo of her father working at the gallery, as she was joined by fellow Residents Audrey and Ian for the trip.

The trio began the morning with a delicious slice of cake and coffee in the cafĂ©, before admiring the beautiful paintings, statues and drawings on display.

Jean, who is a keen artist and enjoyed art classes throughout her life, thoroughly enjoyed looking at the different masterpieces, with paintings by L.S. Lowry being a particular hit.

Jean said: “Thank you for bringing me here where my father worked. It’s been a nice morning seeing all the beautiful paintings.”

Audrey added: “I have enjoyed my morning spending time with Jean and enjoying an interest of hers. The paintings are beautiful and so much detail has gone into them.”

Sade, Wellbeing Coordinator at The Beeches, said: “It’s been a real pleasure to grant Jean’s wish and for her to spend it with two good friends from home. It meant so much to her. We all had a lovely morning at the art gallery, everyone enjoyed themselves.”
