Wishes come true at Penrith care homeWishes are coming true at HC-One’s Croft Avenue care home in Penrith after the introduction of the home’s new ‘wishing wheel’ last month.

The wishing wheel, which was decorated by Resident, Maggie Magney has been filled with a list of wishes from both Residents and members of the care team. Croft Avenue is dedicated to making as many wishes come true as possible, so far, three wishes have come to life.

The first wish, was a trip to Morecambe, Residents enjoyed lunch in a hotel on the sea front before having a lovely, but windy, stroll along the promenade. The second wish was to go swimming, accompanied by members of the team and volunteers, Residents had a wonderful time swimming at Appleby swimming pool.

The third wish was to visit Japan, so the team did the next best thing and organised an afternoon of Japanese cuisine and culture. Some Residents had not tried sushi before and were delighted to have the chance, members of the team wore kimonos and the home was decorated with lanterns and ornaments.

More wishes will continue to come true for Residents throughout 2019.
