A Resident, Peggy Carr, who has been at Defoe Court Care Home in Newton Aycliffe for over 10 years, wished to return to the town where she grew up, Byker.
Peggy grew up in Byker but hadn’t been back since before she married her husband Norman and wished to return to see where she grew up.
Her wish was granted when the care team at Defoe Court took her back to Byker for a look around the local shops where she used to do her shopping and then out for lunch.
She had a great day, reminiscing about her childhood and she really enjoyed her trip down memory lane.
Peggy commented:
“Wey aye man.”
Defoe Court are currently working through all of the Residents wishes and aspirations, ensuring that they continue to enjoy their life to the fullest.
