Wish comes true for Resident at Spennymoor care homeWishes do come true at HC-One’s Lothian House Care Home in Spennymoor, County Durham.

Care Assistant Chelsea Whitworth was reading through the wishes of Residents and came across Bob Oversby’s wish to visit a barber for a close shave and a haircut.

Chelsea immediately started organising this for him and contacted Mark Solan, founder of the Spennymoor-based cancer charity, to see if he could help make Bob’s wish come true.

Mark organised for Bob to visit C&S Turkish Barber’s on 12th July, where he was treated to a shave as well as a hair and eyebrow cut.

Bob was absolutely over the moon with the results and couldn’t stop smiling when he returned to Lothian House, where he received lots of compliments from the staff and other Residents.

Every Resident at Lothian House make three wishes, which the team are working through to achieve each and every one of them.

Lothian House’s Home Manager, Jill Carr commented:

“To achieve another of our Resident’s wishes is fabulous, not only did it have a positive outcome for Bob, it has also strengthened our community links.

It was amazing to see Bob so happy.”
