Residents, relatives and staff at HC-One’s Overdene House in Winsford, have cheered encouragement to Home Manager, Cath Burns, as she took part in the McMillan Cancer challenge to ‘Brave the Shave’ during their McMillan Coffee Morning.
The ‘Brave the Shave’ challenge is one of many events that Cath has supported over the years in support of McMillan Cancer, which have also included running a half marathon and a bungee jump.
The challenge which has raised in the region of £1500, will be split between McMillan Cancer Support and the Resident’s Comfort Fund, which is used for the benefit of Residents.
HC-One, Overdene House Care Home Manager, Cath Burns said
“Like many people I have lost loved ones to cancer and the work that McMillan Cancer Support provides has been invaluable to both patient and family members. As soon as the home was planning the McMillan Coffee Morning I decided to take up the ‘Brave the Shave’ Challenge, much to the delight of Residents who had front row seats!”
HC-One Managing Director, Liz Whyte, said:
“At HC-One we encourage our homes to take part in local and national events, so that they can continue to play an important part in the community. The McMillan Coffee Morning is one such event that many of our homes take part in. However, not many Home Manager have been as brave as Cath and taken on the challenge. We applaud her for ‘Braving the Shave’.”
