The Platinum Jubilee weekend this June has been a very special one for everyone at
The Westbury residential and nursing care home, which included a celebration at the home and planting a tree in the home’s grounds to mark the occasion.
Unfortunately, due to the typical British weather, part of the party was outside, and part was held inside. The home’s Chef made some delicious food for everyone, which included ‘The Queen’s special trifle’ recipe, which won the national competition in the UK.
Everyone, Residents, Colleagues and Relatives, said they had a great day.
One of the home’s Residents assisted in planting the ‘Jubilee Tree’ with the rest of the Residents cheering him on and supporting.
Then the group sat outside, and the sun came out for a while too! Here there was a good singalong, and everyone chatted to each other while a buffet was served.
Some Relatives even made the journey to Westbury, from Devon, to visit their brother for the day and really enjoyed it. They joked if they could have it every Friday!
It really was a wonderful day, and everyone enjoyed being together and reminiscing.
Theresa Chacko, Care Home Manager, commented, “It is lovely to be all together and everyone enjoying themselves.”
