Wiltshire care home buys new interactive touch tableResidents can now enjoy playing games on a new interactive tablet thanks to Colleagues at HC-One’s Avon Court care home in Rowden Hill, Chippenham.

The new interactive table can be wheeled around the home, making it a perfect tool for Residents to use by themselves or in group activities.

Residents are enjoying playing games, doing quizzes and surfing the web, with many Residents learning how to navigate YouTube and Google.

The interactive table is designed for people with dementia and, through continued use, can help boost sensation, relaxation and reminiscence in Residents.

It hosts brain training and memory boosting apps along with a variety of games and puzzles.

The home originally had the tablet on loan but, after seeing its popularity, decided to purchase it so that Residents can use it as much as they want.

Residents particularly loved challenging themselves with interactive quizzes and using YouTube to listen to their favourite songs.

Avon Court Home Manager, Irene, said: “I think this will be very beneficial to staff and to Residents’ wellbeing.”
