Willow Brook care home in Carlton, Nottingham, made a generous donation to its local children’s hospital for Random Acts of Kindness Day 2019.
Residents enjoyed contributing to the donation by creating handmade cards, toys and games to cheer up the children at the hospital. This included designing and colouring in pop-up cards with well-known children’s characters on.
Staff also organised a toy collection in the local community to contribute to the donation.
One Resident commented: “I really enjoyed making cards to help put a smile on the children’s faces, it feels really good to be able to help others.”
Marie Duke Parker, Home Manager at Willow Brook, said: “At HC-One, we are dedicated to helping out the local community. Everyone really enjoyed working together to donate the best gifts possible to our local children’s hospital.”
