Wildlife watching at Bridport care homeNigel Challis, Maintenance Operative at HC-One’s The Hyde care home in Bridport, Dorset has been very busy making bird boxes for the garden at the home.

Residents and members of the care team at The Hyde love wildlife and like to watch the birds and other creatures in the garden. To encourage more wildlife to visit the home, Nigel has made several bird tables and feeders which are placed in various sections of the garden, with some feeders placed outside Resident’s bedroom windows at their request.

Since the tables and feeders have been added to the garden, everyone has seen an increase in the wildlife visiting The Hyde, Residents enjoy sitting and watching the squirrels and the birds and often point out the animals who are regular visitors to the garden.

Nigel is still busy creating more feeders for Residents and has also made a special ‘Bird Buggy’ from recycled wood which makes it easier for him to replenish the bird tables.

Nicky Grinton, Home Manager at The Hyde commented:

“We are so lucky to have such a beautiful garden where we can all admire the wonderful wildlife.

“It’s lovely to see the Residents watching the animals and it will be even better when the warmer weather arrives and we can join the all of the wildlife in the garden.”
