Wigston care home festival brings community together to celebrate autumnA harvest festival held at HC-One’s Cedar Court care home in Wigston helped Residents to meet new people, make new friends and have meaningful moments in the company of others.

The event was also in support of Silver Sunday, which helps combat loneliness within the community and helps to increase happiness and wellbeing.

Cedar Court welcomed members of the local community to mark the start of the autumn season on Friday 5th October and hosted a range of harvest-themed activities including a service from a local church with seasonal hymns followed by a visit from The Mayor of Oadby and Wigston, Councillor David Carter.

Residents socialised with visitors over warm beverages and snacks before enjoying a performance from a local organist.

Louise McQuone, Home Manager at HC-One’s Cedar Court commented:

“Combining Silver Sunday and Harvest festival gave Residents the opportunity to get to know people in the community and to build relationships with each other.

“The event was a great success and we were so pleased to be able to open Cedar Court’s doors to celebrate the autumnal season with members of the local community.”
