Residents at HC-One’s Westwood Lodge in Wigan welcomed local legends into the home for a festive visit in December.
Five Wigan Warrior rugby players visited Westwood Lodge to spreads some festive cheer, they spent their visit sitting and chatting with the Residents, they also visited Residents who are unable to leave their bedrooms.
There are many Wigan Warrior fans at Westwood Lodge so everyone was happy to meet some of the players, some even wanted their photograph taken with the local stars. One Resident, Dorothy Taylor commented:
“I have loved meeting all of them, it has really made my day.”
Jane Davies, Home Manager at Westwood Lodge said:
“It was lovely to meet some of the players, all of the men were so friendly and put a smile on the faces of Residents, members of the care team and visitors.
“We are hoping to organise a trip to visit the rugby club in the summer, which I am sure will be a very popular day out.”
