Widnes care home introduces wishing treeHC-One’s Ferndale Court care home were delighted as Colleagues recently introduced a ‘wishing tree’ in the home for Resident to make their own wishes.

The tree has been introduced as part of the regular ‘stop the clock’ activities in the home, with Residents choosing a wish that they especially would like to see happen, placing them on the ‘tree’ for Colleagues to then grant as the opportunity arises.

All Colleagues are involved in the activity, with some wishes already being granted, including a Resident specifying that she wanted hot dogs for her supper one evening.

Wishes are gathering nicely on to the tree as Colleagues and Residents are eager to see each one granted. Iqbal Sidhu, home manager, commented: “The wish tree has been so popular, all of our Colleagues are always eager to help Residents have their wishes granted, and it’s wonderful to see everyone happy.”
