Whittlesey care home Residents enjoy seaside trip thanks to local Lions ClubResidents from HC-One’s The Elms care home in Whittlesey enjoy a day out to the seaside thanks to a generous donation from Whittlesey Lions Club.

Steve Palmer, President of Lions Club in Whittlesey spoke with The Elms to see if there was anything that they could do to support the home.

After learning that The Elms Wellbeing Coordinators were planning a trip to Hunstanton seaside for the Residents the Lions Club kindly donated the funds to hire a minibus for the day.

On Friday 20th July Residents accompanied by several volunteers, wellbeing coordinators and members of the care team from The Elms set off for a day at the seaside.

When they arrived at Hunstanton everyone enjoyed a stroll along the seafront, taking in the fresh air and beautiful views followed by a delicious fish and chip lunch at a local restaurant.

Residents Norah and Deanna decided to have a browse in the shops throughout the afternoon then enjoyed a nice glass of wine before heading back to the minibus. Dennis Prior, Resident at The Elms commented that it was the best day out he has ever had.

The Elms, Home Manager Katie Coulson said:

“On behalf of the Residents and my colleagues at The Elms, I would like to thank Whittlesey Lions Club for their kindness and generosity in supporting our home and making this special day out possible.”
