Whittlesey care home receives a special delivery from HRH The Prince of WalesHC-One’s The Gables care home in Eastrea received a special delivery from His Royal Highness Prince Charles.

In anticipation of the Royal Wedding of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Sarah Norfield, Receptionist at The Gables wrote directly to His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales describing how excited the Residents and staff at the home were about the upcoming marriage of his son, Prince Harry. 

She also informed Prince Charles of the homes plans to celebrate the wedding, including a raffle that would raise money for the Resident’s Comfort Fund. 

The Gables received a phone from His Royal Highness Prince Charles’ Private Secretary in response to their letter, explaining that Prince Charles was impressed with the efforts everyone at the home had gone to.

As a result a royal hamper and bottle of champagne would be sent to the home by special delivery to help raise money for the Resident’s Comfort Fund on the day of the Royal Wedding.

On the day of the Royal Wedding, the home enjoyed a day of celebration which was special for Residents, visitors and staff. The royal hamper helped to raise £89 for The Gables Resident’s Comfort Fund.

The Gables Senior Home Manager, Henry Mutambo said:

“Receiving the hamper from His Royal Highness made an already special occasion unforgettable for all of the Residents and staff at The Gables. Celebrating the Royal Wedding was such a joyous occasion for everyone.”
