White Gables welcomes unusual regular Resident
Each year at White Gables care home, for as long as most of the care colleagues can remember, a duck has nested in the central courtyard.

She usually hatches her eggs, and after a couple of nights in the safety of the courtyard, the home let her and her ducklings out. She waddles off to the drainage ditch that runs behind the home, usually not to be seen again until next time nests.

This year she successfully hatched her ducklings on care home open day and after a couple of nights the home let her out only to find she returned with her ducklings the same day.

Wellbeing Coordinator, Katherine set up her food tray and a little paddling pool and the ducks now love splashing around and filling up on the food left out for them!

The Residents love watching the duck and her babies and look forward to seeing her nest every year.

Kind care clearly knows no bounds at White Gables, whether the Residents have feathers or not!
