What do Hyde care home Residents love about Christmas? On 7th December, at Hyde nursing and nursing dementia care home, on Tameside, Residents have been telling Colleagues what they love about Christmas and what makes this time of year special to them.

Colleagues Samina Kauser, Claire Dickens and Irina Babici all listened to the wonderful stories that came from the activity.

Bill C, who lives at the home, described how he loved to drink lots of brandy and whiskey at Christmas with his family. Similarly, Mary R. likes to go for lager, especially Guinness!

Most of the Residents said how they liked to give presents and see their families, especially their Grandchildren. They also described how in the past they liked the build up to Christmas, including the magical time of pretending to be Father Christmas for their children and grandchildren!

Audrey F remarked, “I enjoy my Christmas dinner and pudding with a nice drink.”

Irina, Home Manager, commented, “Christmas is a special time to remember, a magical time shared with the loved ones.”
