Wellingborough care home Residents enjoy visit from local school childrenResidents at HC-One’s Acacia Lodge care home were delighted to welcome a group of local school children into the home to discuss their memories of World War Two.

The children listened and asked questions as Residents spoke of their childhoods, reminiscing of their family memories during the war period and how different situations impacted them.

Everyone enjoyed listening to the Residents’ stories and anecdotes, showing a great interest as they noted down information to use in their school project.

The deputy head teacher of the school, Jo Meekings, remarked at how much of an amazing experience it was for the children.

Farai Maringa, home manager, commented: “It’s lovely to see the children engaging so well with our Residents, learning about their experiences growing up in 1939 onwards.”
