Wellingborough Care Home Celebrates Art in CareAs part of the seventh annual Care Home Open Day, HC-One’s Acacia Lodge Care Home opened its doors to the community to take part in creative celebrations.

This year’s theme was ‘Celebrating Art in Care,’ with HC-One launching a national Art Competition to encourage, Residents, their loved ones, colleagues and neighbours to unleash their creativity and design their own masterpiece. Participants could create anything from paintings, drawings, knitting, poetry, calligraphy and pottery – the choices were endless and allowed all talents to be showed-off.

The home received a visit from some furry friends on the day as some lollipop ponies attended to receive some cuddles. Residents and their Relatives enjoyed this alongside a homemade afternoon tea, consisting of various sweet treats.

Residents’ art work adorned the walls of the home as the art competition took place. Farai Maringa, Home Manager, commented: “It’s been a wonderful afternoon of celebrating art. It has been a great opportunity for us to welcome the local community.”
