Well known Appleby couple celebrate golden wedding anniversaryWell known Appleby couple Brian and Pauline Taylor celebrated their golden wedding anniversary surrounded by friends and family at HC-One’s Cold Springs Park Care Home in Penrith.

After meeting on a beach through mutual friends, Brian and Paula married in Liverpool in 1968.

The family moved to Kendal in 1970 where they built themselves a house, before moving to Kendal in 1971 and having two children, Julie and Robert.

They now spend their time with their four wonderful grandchildren, Millie, George, Jack and Grace. 

Brian, who has recently become a Resident at Cold Springs Park, and his wife Pauline were treated beautiful music played by Ken Wilson on the cello and a surprise afternoon tea, before enjoying a glass of wine together whilst everyone raised a toast to them. 

The family had a great time, commenting:

“The staff were amazing and made it a memorable day for us all.”

Brian commented:

“I love the balloons and cards from family and friends.” 

Their secret to a long marriage is a sense of humour and patience with each other.
