Residents and Colleagues at HC-One’s
Dovedale Court care home in Wednesbury got to work raising money for the charity, after they contacted them for support.
Earlier in May, Dovedale Court was contacted by 'Make me Smile' charity, asking if they would like to support a fund-raising event they had. The money raised would be going towards Innowalk Pro for a young boy who suffers with ADHD, Autism, Hyper mobility and Sensory Processing disorder.
The Innowalk Por will release the pressure on his lungs and enable him to breathe much better. After learning of the benefits, Dovedale Court agreed to try and help and wellbeing staff spoke to Residents and came up with a plan.
Colleagues and Residents went to work on painting bird feeders, candles, tea lights and hanging baskets to sell. Residents agreed to raise £75, but in a week, they were able to raise over £100.
Dovedale Court Home Manager said: “Everyone enjoyed making the items and are so proud to help support the young boy.”
“We were so delighted to have supported this event.”
Full of charm and character, Dovedale Court is a friendly care home with 76 beds, located just outside the market town of Wednesbury in the West Midlands. Dovedale Court offers nursing and residential dementia care.
