Wedding bells at Glasgow care homeHC-One’s Ailsa Craig care home in Glasgow celebrated the start of the years wedding season with a surprise bridal shower and a wedding reminiscence activity for Residents.

Everyone at Ailsa Craig helped to organise a surprise bridal shower for Wellbeing Coordinator, Edita Leonetti to celebrate her upcoming nuptials. Residents enjoyed asking Edita all about her wedding dress and the details for her special day, some ladies shared their memories of the excitement they had when picking their wedding dress.

Ailsa Craig Resident, Ella commented: “I remember making my own wedding dress with my bridesmaids in just three days.”

The wellbeing team organised a special wedding reminiscence activity for Residents where they brought in pictures from 1950’s and 1960’s bridal magazines so that the ladies could chat about the different designs before designing their own dresses on paper.

Ailsa Craig Home Manager, Lynsey Armstrong said: “It was lovely to hear all of the wonderful wedding stories our Residents had to share, the smiles on their faces really said it all.”
