Waterside Care Home celebrates International Flower DayThe staff and Residents at Waterside Care Home celebrated International Flower Day on Friday 19th January by embracing their creative side.

Seventeen of the Residents at Waterside decided to make beautiful flower arrangements, choosing their own types and colours of flower for their creations. Some Residents decided to gift their arrangements to a loved one, while others wanted to keep and admire their own handiwork.

The staff at Waterside have seen the difference that a flower with a few kind words of appreciation can make to someone’s day, so they ensured that all Residents were given a beautiful flower even if they were unable to create their own arrangements.

A lovely day was had by all, even those who did not participate, visitors commented on how beautiful the arrangements were. Mary Johnson, the wife of a Resident at Waterside commented:

“It’s really great that you thought of my husband, even though he is unable to leave his bed, this tells me that you really care, thank you”.

Heidi Scott, Home Manager at Waterside said:

“This was a great activity, the home smelt like springtime all day and the responses on the day and since makes it all worthwhile.”
