Residents and Colleagues at Callands care home recently celebrated the 75th anniversary of D-Day. D-Day refers to the day in the Second World War on which Allied forces invaded northern France by means of beach landings in Normandy.
Everyone took part in a sing-a-long and danced to their favourite wartime songs as they each enjoyed some deliciously homemade cakes and refreshing drinks.
Residents discussed memories and stories they had of D-Day as they reminisced of their past lives and spoke of their experiences of the war whilst remembering those that sacrificed their lives.
Joanne Goodwin, Home Manager, commented: “ It’s been lovely to see Residents enjoying themselves as we remember this significant day in history.”
