Walton-On-Thames care home receives Eid surpriseResidents and Colleagues at Adelaide House were surprised to receive a visit from two members of the local Ahmadiyya Muslim Community recently.

Uzma Qadeer and her son attended the home to celebrate Eid, and to do this, they kindly and unexpectedly gifted the Residents with a thoughtful present which consisted of items such as bubble bath, scented candles and tea cakes – all of which Residents appreciated thoroughly.

Eid is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.

As some staff in the home are also celebrating Eid, it was even more special to receive this visit and enhance relationships within the community.

The home are also looking forward to more visits as the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community have kindly offered to visit the Residents regularly and develop this relationship further.

Tracy Lazell, Home Manager, commented: “Everyone appreciates this kind gesture, and it is a wonderful example of how the community can come together in celebration.”
