Wallasey care home residents share their favourite things about ChristmasResidents at HC-One’s Leighton Court care home in Wallasey have been sharing their favourite things about Christmas ahead of the start of advent on December 1st.

The residents were asked to give their Christmas highlights by staff at the HC-One care home, which provides residential, nursing and nursing dementia care.

First up is resident Alex Murphy, who recently celebrated his 90th birthday. Alex has a wonderful family who are a huge support and is a massive Everton Football Club supporter.

He said his favourite element of Christmas is being with his family at Christmas and is looking forward to spending lots of time with them over the festive period.

The second resident is George Price, who has been joking that he’s the care home’s biggest celebrity after he was recently featured in an article in the Daily Telegraph.

George describes himself as 96 years young, is still full of energy and loves seeing the entertainment at Leighton Court and meeting visiting children.

He said his favourite things about Christmas are 'being alive!’ and having good health.

The third resident is Junia Garcia Woods. Junia loves to crochet and make presents for other people and loves arts and craft in general. Her favourite thing about Christmas is giving and receiving presents - always a highlight for everyone and what the festive season is all about.

The fourth and final resident is Kath Parry. Kath moved into Leighton Court this year and has been described by staff as thriving. She loves the activities taking place in the home and has made lots of new friends

Kath's favourite thing about Christmas is 'all the twinkling lights and shiny things' and the Leighton Court staff say they couldn't agree more and love the annual treat of getting the Christmas decorations out.
