Wakefield care home Residents enjoy arts and crafts afternoonResidents at HC-One’s Carr Gate care home in Wakefield enjoyed an arts and crafts afternoon along with some lovely tea, coffee and cakes.

The calming nature of painting, writing or other creative pursuits is a way to forget about larger stresses and promote healthy, happy feelings, so it is important for Residents to take part in these sorts of activities as often as they can.

Residents enjoyed colouring in flowers, rainbows and other more complex drawings which helped them relax and which helped them keep engaged. Carr Gate residential dementia Residents took part in this activity and they really enjoyed it.

One Carr Gate Resident said: “It is very relaxing, trying to keep inside the lines.”

Colleagues then supplied Residents with a lovely tea trolley full of tea, coffee and a wonderful array of treats, to treat them for all their hard work.
