Viva Las Vegas CQC celebration at Bishop Auckland care homeHC-One’s Bishopsgate Lodge care home in Bishop Auckland, County Durham celebrated in style after being rated ‘Good’ in all areas in the home’s recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection.

Residents, friends, family and members of the team came together for a special Las Vegas themed extravaganza with live entertainment, an American-style buffet, raffle, tombola and casino tables.

Everyone was given ‘fun money tokens’ which they could use to place bets on the roulette wheel and the blackjack table, the games brought back fond memories for some Residents, Eric Taylor commented that it reminded him of playing pontoon.

Elvis entered the building and put a fantastic show for Residents and visitors, who all enjoyed singing and dancing along to the king of rock’s classic hits. A great time was had by all, one Resident, Norah said she was surprised how much she enjoyed playing on the roulette wheel.

Bishopsgate Lodge Home Manager, Sarah Rigby said: “What an amazing day, thank you to my Colleagues for organising such a wonderful event and to everyone for coming along to show your support.

“On the day, we managed to raise £74 for the Residents’ Comfort Fund, great job everyone!”
