VE Day at Barton Brook Residents and Care Colleagues at Barton Brook in Salford celebrated VE Day in style. The day included a patriotic theme with bunting, a two-minute silence and music from the 1940’s to really set the mood of the day!

Entertainer and vocalist, Debra gave a fantastic show with songs from the 1940’s taking the Residents back in time and got the memories flowing. Everyone had a great time singing, waving flags and dancing.

VE Day, or Victory in Europe Day, was first celebrated on May, 8 1945 - the day after Germany surrendered after six years of war.

Home Manager, Lynn Kaye said:

“Many of our Residents have very clear memories of the second world war and the hardships that were suffered. It is nice to be able to celebrate VE day brought to everyone back to being in 1945 again!”
