Residents at HC-One’s The Hornchurch care home were please to welcome a vicar from the local St John’s church as she held a church service for Valentine’s day.
Hymns were sang and prayers said by all, with the vicar also giving a reading from the bible in honour of St. Valentine, which everyone enjoyed listening to as they remembered the loved ones they had lost.
The activity was great in helping Residents increase their social interaction with one another, and each Resident was delighted as they received a rose in spirit of Valentine’s day, remarking at how special it made them feel.
Tania Banner, home manager, commented: “It’s lovely to have had this service within our home, everyone has enjoyed listening to the service and speaking about their own religious views.”
