This month at
The Harefield in Uxbridge, which provides nursing and nursing dementia care, Residents have enjoyed weeklong celebrations for Valentines.
Residents and Colleagues at The Harefield believe that you can show your love at any time, and not only on one particular day. That’s why, this year it was decided to make the Valentines celebrations a weeklong affair. Wellbeing Coordinators James and Amber worked particularly hard to make the week special for all the Residents.
James assisted the Residents in making gorgeous Valentine’s cards, followed by a guess the love song quiz. Amber went above and beyond by purchasing red roses for all the ladies, as well as making personalised cards and buying chocolates for the men.
On the actual Valentine’s Day, the home was completed decorated with a romantic theme and the catering team baked delicious cupcakes, which the Residents assisted with decorating. The Harefield felt truly special and was the most wonderful, romantic time of the year.
Residents also expressed how much they enjoyed the week, with Judith, a Resident at the care home said she really loved the decorations, “The decorations are great, they all look so pretty” she said. Alan, another Resident also was very happy with his card and chocolates and Joan said she had a lot of fun making her Valentine’s card.
Rebekah, the Home Manager went on to say, “It was so wonderful to see the Residents so happy at their celebrations”.
