The first round of coronavirus vaccinations has been carried out at HC-One’s The Polegate care home, in East Sussex.
Residents had partaken in the programme and were in receipt of injection one of the Oxford jab. One Resident commented, “The relief is huge!”
Residents enjoyed joking beforehand about which arm they were to have the vaccine in. There was a lot of laughter as well as relief as among Residents and Colleagues alike.
Emma Louise Rich-Spice, Home Manager, commented, “There was a real buzz in the home today as we vaccinated.”
Also, this week, Residents enjoyed a session of sensory smells and then discussing all the memories that those scents gave them.
It was a busy interactive session with lots enjoyed by all, especially Residents Chris Waters, Evelyn Barker and Doreen Catton (all pictured). They said how it reminds them of certain things.
Emma Louise, added, “It is so lovely to be able to undertake these activities under the current climate.”
