The Orchard care home, in Tullibody, Alloa both staff and Residents have had lots of fun spending time with volunteers from The Gate Charity.
When staff were at the local supermarket, they started speaking with some of the volunteers from The Gate Charity which is based in Alloa. The volunteers explained the work in which they do and were keen to pay a visit to The Orchards.
The Gate Charity, based in Alloa, they have groups of volunteers who help out in the local community with lots of different things including food donations for food banks and much more.
The Residents were keen to get involved and the volunteers were great. The Residents got involved in making a lovely harvest display for the home. All of the Residents involved were painting decorations and helped to make a scarecrow out of hay.
The staff got involved too by donating various food items and DVD’s to the charity.
One Resident, commented, “We has fun taking part in making the harvest board, table and scarecrow.”
Fiona Johnstone, Care Home Manager, remarked, “Its lovely to be able to give back to the community after they have supported us over the pandemic.”
