Tuck shop treats land lovely lady a Kindness in Care AwardHC-One’s Ashton Grange Care Home in Sunderland is celebrating the work of June McClaren, who has received a Kindness in Care Award for her thoughtful and conscientious attitude over the past two years since starting work at the home.

All of the Residents at the home love June as she is always smiling, happy and helpful, and stands out in the way she goes above and beyond to provide the kindest care to everybody living at Ashton Grange.

Recently, Ashton Grange made the sad decision to close down their tuck shop, the profits from which went to the Residents’ fund. Unwilling to let the people in her care miss out, June decided to make chocolate hampers, and raffled them off in the local community to make up the extra cash.

From the day she started, June has been a glowing example of what it means to provide the utmost kindness in care, and she’s now an integral part of the team.

HC-One Ashton Grange Home Manager, Lesley Dawson, said:

“June always goes the extra mile for everyone, and this award is the best way to honour everything she does for the whole community at Ashton Grange. Life here truly wouldn’t be the same without her, and it’s really inspiring to work alongside somebody so kind and selfless.

June McClaren is exactly what HC-One is all about.”
