Truro Care Home Celebrates D-DayResidents and Colleagues at HC-One’s Roseland Court commemorated D-Day in style as staff dressed in war time clothing and played music from the era.

D-Day is known as the day the Second World War on which Allied forces invaded northern France by means of beach landings in Normandy

The home was decorated in a 40’s theme as Residents and Relatives danced along to some of their favourite songs. A ‘wartime’ themed afternoon tea was also provided for all, whilst some Colleagues performed a dance routine for Residents, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

Residents were able to use the day as a method of reminiscing with each other of life during the war, with both positive and poignant memories being recalled.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day as they could share memories with Relatives and friends.
