Trip to the park for The Gables ResidentsResidents at HC-One’s The Gables care home recently enjoyed a trip to loval Central Park in Peterborough as they embraced the sunshine.

Residents admired the beautiful grounds of the park as they saw many animals including squirrels and birds, as well as the grave of famous Jimmy the donkey who was renowned for being the first world war animal hero in Peterborough.

A picnic was enjoyed in the shade of the sunshine before everyone took another walk around the park to admire the beautifully coloured flower beds. Everyone then visited the cafĂ© and enjoyed a delicious cake and a warm drink as they reflected on the afternoon’s events.

Residents commented on how well kept the gardens were and how much they enjoyed visiting the park.

Henry Mutambo, Home Manager, commented: “Residents have thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon at the park, it’s always lovely to see them happy and smiling.”
