Toddler singing group delights Residents at Devon care homeThe local toddler singing group has decided to come to Gittisham Hill House care home, in Honiton, Devon, to meet with Residents once a month, and the first session has gone very well; building intergenerational relationships within the local community.

Mums, children, Residents and Colleagues all absolutely loved the session, singing different nursery rhymes and church songs together. The Residents and children both thrived off each other, and at the end the group indulged in a delicious fruit platter and drinks together.

It was a lovely sociable visit for all and the toddler singing group are scheduled to come again.

Residents said how lovely it was to have children. It took them back to when their children were young, and everyone loved singing with them.

One of the Residents said, “(It was) great fun and great to have little people here. I love seeing little children happy!”

Emma Walker, Wellbeing Coordinator, remarked, “It was a really great experience for the Residents; reminiscing with the old songs.”

Julia Heneker, Care Home Manager, added, “It was so great to see how much of a positive impact this experience had on our Residents they were all so happy.”
